Black History Month 2016

Black History Month kicks off at Oregon State University on February 2nd with the 1st Annual Black Excellence Celebration in the MU Ballroom from 6:00-7:30pm. This program honors some of our African American/Black administrators, faculty, staff and community members.

Other events are talking place throughout the month, including:

  • The M.M.M.: Model Minority Myth at the Asian & Pacific Cultural Center, Feb.11, 6-7:30pm
  • Messages in the Music at the Lonnie B. Harris Black Cultural Center (LBH-BCC), Feb. 12,  6-7:30pm
  • Movie Showing: Selma (presented by the Black Student Union) at the LBH-BCC, Feb. 25, 5-8pm
  • Black History Month Dance at the LBH-BCC, Feb. 26, 9pm-2am
  • Candlelight Vigil (presented by the LBH-BCC) at the MU Quad, Feb. 29, 7pm
